About Us

The Rajarajan Educational and Cultural Association was established in the year 1986 by a few of our relatives who wanted to form an Association to meet our relatives settled in Chennai from various Districts as their native place.

Their initial intention to form the Association was to meet once in a month and share their feelings and experiences they have gained by living and working in Chennai. During their monthly meetings they introduced new members and assured their participatory involvement in inducting more members among our relatives and by their willingness to associate with the Association they have stimulated more members to enroll not only in Chennai but also from the districts of Thanjavur, Trichy, Pudukkottai etc. and presently we have 18 District branches in Tamil Nadu. The then office bearers along with some of the members of our Association had visited various places in Chennai and other districts to meet our relatives and asked them to enroll in the Association after explaining the goals. Mainly to help mutually each other among the members with regards to the Education of their Children/wards, career guidelines employment opportunity to the needy and also to ventilate their emotions, problems, grievances, etc.

Attracted by the objectives of our Association and the initiatives of the then office bearers, more and more of our relatives have volunteered to join the Association and are helping us to reach our goal. During the development period of our Association to keep the relations of members intact and to communicate the activities, a monthly magazine titled Rajarajan Seithimalar started and is successfully being published every month. At the same time every year Annual Day function clubbed with General body meeting is being organized. During the function, the Association identifies various celebrities and achievers in the fields of business, cinema, culture development activities etc. and they are felicitated with various awards. Our children who have secured top marks among the families of our relatives are given cash prizes with certificate and a medal or shield.

Through collection of donations from our relatives and members in the Association, a Flat at Jafferkhanpet was purchased in the year 1992 to establish an office exclusively for the Association and the Office was inaugurated by NagaichuvaiThilagam ‘Atchi’ Manorama. Afterwards, the meetings and other activities of Association are being held in the flat till now. Apart from the assistance given for educational guidance and higher studies, the then office bearers realized that there was a huge demand for matrimonial related help. As resolved a matrimonial registration wing started to furnish the details of available of brides and grooms from our members’s family.
